VCM2 clone review: SP177-C1 the best!

obdexpress.co.uk seem to be the place to buy a decent clone their boards seem to be the good quality ones described on mhhauto,

I do use China clone with Mazda IDS and never had issue on 2010+ vehicle. Clone # sp177C-1 is working good also on 2010+ but this model isn't available anymore.
As for sp177c , I have no experience with it. just make sure you don't buy anything that's based on allscanner/VXdiag technology. Those are complete crap

But don't expect any clone VCM2 will do old PCM programming, because of the EEprom programming signal higher voltage required can't be produced by those clones.
In short, when programming these PCM, the VCM sends a higher voltage (around 18v) to 1 pin of the PCM to "open" the programming session. Clones can't do that.
the only tool that I know that does it is the new thing from FLY but....(and there's a BIG but)... it won't let you program some older cluster and ABS ecu. Ive tested it on some cars and so far, not so good.
Better get an OEM VCM2 as I did.
Buy 1 good tool instead of 2 or 3 crap tool

1 - USB cable that came with it doesn't even fit the tool. It's just too big to reach the connector.
2 - they state same as sp177-c or sp177-c1 which is a big lie. Components quality is nothing near similar.
3 - most important.. it's unusable. It keeps disconnecting from the laptop every 10 to 20 sec while watching data logger. I don't want to even risk programming with it.

SP177-C1 THE BEST
SP177-C1 is the best, then SP177 I think
A good price. Well worth the money.

VCM 2 SP177-1 review:
has anyone else bought the sp177-1 from chinese? they are out of stock on the sp177-c so they sold me the sp177-1 which is actually an fvdi 2534 board inside. It uses vcmxloader to start the ids program and does not need a license due to FLY having an account. But i cannot get it to communicate with the pcm and i have installed on windows 7 laptop as instructed.

VCM 2 SP177-C1 review:
My sp177-c1 works perfectly on ALL new generation ford / Mazda but have difficulty to achieve some functionality on old ford based ECU (also on Mazda equipped with ford ECU).
I'm pretty sure that the Chinese "engineers" who developed those clones didn't copy the OEM board 100% . They must have took some shortcuts to save $$.

Possible to the newest Ford IDS V112 on VCM 2 clone (SP177-C ,SP177-C1)?

Question: Can I use Ford IDS version 112 on VCM2 china clone?

Answer: It depends.

There are different Chinese producers making VCM2 units.

If you use VCM 2 SP177-C or SP177-C1, the latest IDS software you can use is version 108.

If you use VCM 2 SP177-2, you will have good luck with IDS version 112.

Solution to China clone VCM 2 error NO VCM Found / Connected on Win10

Post gives the solution to China clone VCM 2 error “NO VCM Found / Connected” on Win10.

Here comes the issue:

I am running windows 10 x64, IDS is working great but I have a Chinese clone VCM 2, I have tried everything but it keeps giving me NO VCM Found/Connected.

You make sure VCM 2 Connect in VMWare ?

if you sure VCM 2 appear device manager in guest os windows 7 you can recovery firmware instruction.

1.Unplug USB VCM 2 do not connect vcm 2

2.You must start guest OS Windows 7 VMWare and wait for boot complete.

3.Then windows start-up complete you open VCM Manager application.

4.You must open cover rubber-hood near USB port on VCM 2 you see recovery button near MicroSD port.

5.you must press and hold button it and plug USB plug to VCM2 while VCM 2 booting up VCM 2 Manager appear “Recovery” you click button for update firmware vcm 2 match PC software version on VMWare Guest OS.

6.Then firmware update complete you will appear button and can connect VCM and page beep beep! to VCM 2

Find this button in the VCM 2 main unit, and then press on it.

Connect the VCM II unit to a laptop/PC with a USB cable

Note that VCM II is only connected to the PC via a USB cable, not connected to the car via an OBD cable

Press the button until the power is connected and all the lights are lighted.

Go to the START menu, then Bosch

Open Ford VCM II Manager, then go to VCM II Update for recovery

How to solve IDS V108 "Selection not available"

Hello,

I bought ids 108 from your portal and will buy IDS V112 soon but i got problem.

when i wanna module programming i got something like i uploaded in this video (https://youtu.be/NZ4ruRgxshU)

I had error selection not available after entering module programming:

Then I downloaded “Ford Extending Programming.rar file from bellow link:

from internet and I have this now.

when I installed ghost image and when i plugged VCM it didn’t find any driver for vcm so i downloaded from internet vcm driver 2~ and its working but maybe its the problem?? do you have driver for this ??

Reinstall the IDS driver and its working (for windows 7 home premium some people says yes, some people says no, so it depends on your try.) VX Driver VCMii2.2.0.1510 is good also.

A new problem arose:

but I got another problem after entering programming abs i got this reading “Module part numbers were found in database but database information is incomplete”.

i can’t use internet because its making this problem with closing automatically
like in video was.

Tip:

Disable the internet connection, if the internet connection is disabled and you got no database then it means VCM2 doesn’t support your car, your car need to online programming with other device instead of VCM2.(i.e fvdi j2534)
